Anthropic launches Claude add-on for Google Workspace

Anthropic has released a public beta for its ‘Claude for Google Workspace’ add-on, designed to integrate its AI capabilities directly into Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides. The tool features a sidebar that allows users to edit files directly within the workspace, reducing the need to copy and paste content between chat interfaces and documents.

In Google Docs, the add-on can rewrite text to adjust tone, such as converting internal memos into professional client-facing documents, and can transform text into formatted tables. In Google Sheets, it assists with data aggregation and analysis. The tool provides visual feedback for changes, using red strikethroughs for deletions and blue text for additions, allowing users to review and accept specific edits individually.
