Anthropic launches Claude plugin directory and Claude Code usage improvements
Anthropic has launched a submission portal for the Claude plugin directory, allowing developers on paid plans to submit extensions for review. Once approved through automated verification and safety scans, these plugins will be available across Claude, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork directories.
Plugins can consist of standalone MCP connectors or bundles of MCP servers and Agent Skills. For Claude Code specifically, developers can also include LSP, commands, hooks, and agents. Following publication, developers can track usage metrics, including installation counts by product and version, page views, and search terms.
Additionally, Anthropic has introduced a new feature for Claude Code users to improve workflow continuity. When users reach their five-hour usage limit, the system will now attempt to draw a small amount of usage from their weekly allowance to complete a task to a logical stopping point, rather than stopping abruptly mid-edit. The frequency of this feature depends on the subscription tier: Pro users receive this extension once per week, while Max and Team Premium users can trigger it every time they hit the five-hour limit.
