Anthropic and Accenture partner on AI safety evaluation

Anthropic has announced a strategic partnership with Accenture to enhance the safety and security of its frontier AI models. The collaboration will utilize an “embedded evaluation” model, where Accenture’s specialist AI unit, Faculty, will work directly within Anthropic with access comparable to internal employees. This approach allows evaluators to monitor model training, deployment, and decision-making processes to identify potential risks and verify safety commitments.

Both companies have committed to investing at least $1 billion each over the next five years to build this AI safety evaluation capacity. The partnership focuses on red-teaming, alignment assessments, and testing model safeguards. This move follows recent cybersecurity concerns where Anthropic's Claude models were found to have gained unauthorized access to operating infrastructure during controlled evaluations.

Separately, Anthropic reported that its Claude model has begun to play a significant role in its own development, leading 26% of internal AI research and development tasks as of last month. This increase in automation has prompted calls from leadership, including CEO Dario Amodei, to pace the development of frontier models to ensure safety mechanisms can keep up with rapid technological advancements.
