Anthropic reports increased token usage and high executive salaries

Anthropic has seen a 3.6x increase in model token volume following the launch of Claude Opus 5.5. The model, released in late September 2026, is designed for complex tasks such as coding and research. It offers faster output generation and lower operating costs compared to its predecessor, Opus 5, with a 20% reduction in pricing for input tokens and a 60% reduction for cache reads.

In addition to technical growth, Anthropic is offering highly competitive compensation for specialized roles. The company has listed an executive communications writer position with a base salary range between $295,000 and $345,000 per year. This figure significantly exceeds the median pay for writers and public relations specialists in the United States. Other writing and communications roles currently listed by Anthropic and OpenAI reportedly offer minimum salaries of at least $171,000.
