Anthropic targets mid-November IPO with up to $2 trillion valuation

Anthropic, the developer of the Claude AI models, is reportedly preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) with a potential valuation between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion. The company aims to begin formal marketing during the week of November 9, 2026, with the goal of starting trades before the Thanksgiving holiday on November 26.

Financial filings reveal a period of rapid growth tempered by massive expenditures. Anthropic reported approximately $4.6 billion in revenue for 2025, a twelve-fold increase from the previous year. However, the company also reported an operating loss of over $8 billion and a net loss of approximately $42 billion for the same period. Much of the net loss is attributed to changes in the fair value of liabilities.

To support its long-term development, Anthropic has committed at least $518 billion toward AI infrastructure and computing capacity over the next decade. The company plans to host an investor day at its San Francisco headquarters on October 14 to prepare the market. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Citigroup are serving as underwriters for the offering.
