Anthropic extends free Claude Fable 5 access to July 19 for paid subscribers
Anthropic announced that its flagship Claude Fable 5 model will remain included at no extra charge for paid plans (Pro, Max, Team and premium Enterprise seats) until 19 July 2026. Users can draw up to 50 % of their weekly subscription quota on Fable 5; beyond that they must purchase usage credits or switch to another Claude model. The same extension keeps Claude Code’s weekly rate limits 50 % higher through the same date. The promotion follows a turbulent launch: after the 9 June release, U.S. export‑control orders forced a 19‑day global shutdown, with service restored on 1 July under added safety guards. The extension also counters recent competitive moves, notably OpenAI’s rollout of GPT‑5.6 and the removal of usage caps on its Codex model.
