Anthropic updates Claude Tag to enhance Slack collaboration

Anthropic has released a significant update to Claude Tag, its AI collaboration tool integrated with Slack. The update aims to improve context awareness, making the tool 30% more effective at proactively engaging in conversations by analyzing entire channel histories rather than individual messages.

Under the new system, Claude Tag can choose from four distinct actions: replying inline for quick answers, starting deeper work within a thread, routing messages to existing workstreams, or remaining silent to avoid unnecessary interruptions. The update utilizes stored memory and user-configured instructions to determine the most helpful course of action.

In practical applications, developers have utilized Claude to assist with production-level engineering tasks, including bug fixes and internal tooling. However, users noted that the tool requires rigorous human verification, particularly regarding UI fixes and binary data handling, to prevent errors such as silent file corruption or incorrect CSS reasoning.
