Antifascist movements organize in France and Quebec

Antifascist movements in France and Quebec are highlighting their organizational efforts and long-term strategies.

In France, the inter-union association VISA (Vigilances et initiatives syndicales antifascistes) is marking 30 years of activity. Comprising over 300 union structures, including the CGT, FSU, and Solidaires, the organization focuses on providing information and training to trade unionists to combat far-right influence in the workplace. Since 1996, VISA has monitored and denounced the incursions of the National Rally (RN) within social and professional spheres.

In Quebec, the Mouvement transféministe recently organized a trans-feminist and antifascist convergence at Centre St-Pierre. The event, which drew approximately 200 participants, aimed to strengthen political mobilization and solidarity across the social and political left. The gathering included contributions from political figures such as Manon Massé and Mia Fréchette of Québec Solidaire, emphasizing the movement's efforts to integrate antifascist goals with electoral and social activism.
