Antigua and Barbuda and Aruba face off in Nations League opener
Antigua and Barbuda and Aruba are set to face each other at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on Wednesday for their opening match of the 2026-27 CONCACAF Nations League League C. Both teams enter the competition following relegations from League B during the 2024-25 season.
Aruba, currently ranked 189th in the FIFA World Rankings, seeks to rebuild after a difficult campaign in which they lost all six matches in League B. While they secured notable wins against Macau and Liechtenstein earlier this year, a recent 4-0 loss to Curacao ended a four-game unbeaten streak.
Antigua and Barbuda, ranked 162nd, enter the match facing a significant period without competitive play, having not played since a friendly against Guyana in November 2025. The team is currently on a 15-match winless streak. The match is the first of two Group B encounters, with the return leg scheduled for October 6.
