Antigua and Barbuda Consulate hosts diaspora literary event in New York
The Consulate General in New York is hosting ‘Wadadli Speaks – Louder than Words,’ a spoken word event designed to strengthen ties with the Antiguan and Barbudan diaspora in the United States. Scheduled for Sunday, August 16th, in Brooklyn, the event will showcase the literary and creative talents of young Antiguans and Barbudans through poetry, storytelling, and spoken word performances.
The initiative is part of a broader effort led by Ambassador Walton Webson, Antigua and Barbuda’s Permanent Representative to the UN, to foster deeper connections and build professional networks across generations of the diaspora. This follows a successful diaspora mixer held in March. Consular Officer Michelle Lightfoot and Diaspora Liaison Dave Ray are coordinating the event to celebrate the heritage and shared experiences of nationals living overseas.
