Antigua and Barbuda Falcons defeat Trinbago Knight Riders by eight runs

The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons secured an eight-run victory over the Trinbago Knight Riders at Queen’s Park Oval, strengthening their position at the top of the Caribbean Premier League table. The Falcons posted a total of 183 for four, driven by Hasan Nawaz’s 76 runs from 48 balls and an unbeaten 32 from captain Moeen Ali. A 108-run partnership between Nawaz and Ali helped anchor the innings.

In response, the Knight Riders were restricted to 175 for seven. Rahkeem Cornwall led the Falcons' bowling effort, taking three wickets for 17 runs and dismissing key players including Colin Munro and Sunil Narine. Despite a 55-run recovery from Kieron Pollard (41) and Joshua Da Silva (54 not out), the Knight Riders fell short of the target.

The loss marks the third consecutive defeat for the Knight Riders, leaving the defending champions on the brink of elimination. The match also drew attention to Kieron Pollard, who received a standing ovation following his performance, amid speculation regarding his future in the league.
