Antigua and Barbuda Falcons win 2026 CPL title
The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons secured the 2026 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title with an eight-wicket victory over the Jamaica Kingsmen. The win marks a significant achievement for the franchise, which is only in its third year of existence.
All-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall played a pivotal role in the championship run, contributing 189 runs across nine innings with a strike rate of 203.22. His performance included a crucial 49 off 16 balls in Qualifier 1 and 20 off six balls in the final. Cornwall noted that the victory served as a personal redemption following a difficult previous CPL campaign.
Pacer Alzarri Joseph also contributed to the win, taking 2-27 in four overs, including a restrictive 19th over that helped limit the Kingsmen to 170 runs. Joseph expressed that the victory was particularly meaningful as it was his first year playing for the home-based franchise.
