Antigua and Barbuda prepares for 2026 Commonwealth Business Forum
Antigua and Barbuda is preparing to host the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF) from November 2 to 4, 2026, as part of CHOGM Week. Prime Minister Gaston Browne recently met with officials from the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) to discuss arrangements for the event, which aims to connect governments, investors, and the private sector to foster sustainable economic growth.
As part of the forum, a “Power Pitch” initiative has been announced to help local entrepreneurs access capital. Modeled after programs like “Shark Tank,” selected business owners will have five minutes to present investment-ready ventures to a panel of regional and international investors. The initiative seeks to address capital access barriers for small and medium-sized businesses.
Applicants for the pitch competition must submit detailed business plans, financial projections, and pitch decks by September 25. The Antigua and Barbuda Investment Authority and the Chamber of Commerce will assist in shortlisting and training finalists. The forum is expected to emphasize the economic needs of Small Island Developing States and the mobilization of private capital for infrastructure and innovation.
