Antigua and Barbuda: Two killed in Creek Side shooting

A man and a 19-year-old woman were fatally shot in the Creek Side community on Tuesday afternoon. The victims were transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre in a private vehicle, where they were later pronounced dead.

Daryll Matthew, the Member of Parliament for St. John’s Rural South and Minister of Education, condemned the violence, describing the incident as heartbreaking. Matthew acknowledged long-standing community concerns regarding crime and safety, stating that residents deserve to feel secure in their homes.

Matthew has urged the community to remain calm, support one another, and avoid speculation while authorities conduct their investigation. Police have not yet released an official statement regarding the circumstances of the double homicide.
