Antigua GFC defeats Comunicaciones to remain undefeated

Antigua GFC defeated Comunicaciones 2-0 at the Estadio Pensativo during the fifth round of the Torneo Apertura 2026 in the Guatemalan National League. The victory allows Antigua, led by Mauricio Tapia, to maintain an undefeated streak and remain at the top of the standings.

William Fajardo scored the opening goal in the 32nd minute. Although Fajardo had further opportunities to extend the lead before halftime, Comunicaciones goalkeeper Arnold Barrios prevented additional goals. During the match, Héctor Prillwitz had to be substituted in the 15th minute due to physical discomfort, replaced by Juan Carbonell.

Comunicaciones, managed by Marco Antonio Figueroa, suffered its second defeat of the competition. The team now shifts its focus to the upcoming national derby.
