Antigua Minister Dwayne George Reviews Carnival Grounds Ahead of 2026 Festival
Minister of Sports and Creative Industries Dwayne George inspected the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG) as preparations for the 2026 Carnival progressed. Accompanied by the Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission and operations lead Cleofoster Harris, the minister assessed the venue’s transformation into “Carnival City,” noting that about 70% of the work is complete.
George highlighted major upgrades, including a nearly 100‑metre stage, enhanced lighting and sound systems, and improvements to security, sanitation and parking. He expressed confidence in the venue’s readiness, thanked sponsors and partners, and urged the public to support the cultural celebration.
The inspection focused on operational readiness, crowd management and logistical arrangements to ensure a safe and well‑organized festival experience for performers and attendees.
