Antimony processing developments advance in Australia and Mexico

Global efforts to secure antimony supply chains are advancing through new processing developments in Australia and Mexico. In Victoria, Australia, the state government has issued grants to Gekko Systems and Southern Cross Gold Consolidated Ltd to support early-stage downstream antimony processing. As one of the world’s top ten antimony producers, Victoria aims to leverage its reserves to build homegrown processing capacity, supporting strategic needs in defense, energy, and battery technologies.

In North America, Antimony Resources Limited has commenced its first antimony concentrate production campaign at the Tecomatlán Processing Plant in Mexico. This 200-tonne proof-of-concept campaign marks the company’s transition from exploration to production. The plant is currently processing material from the Chinantla mine and has secured additional feedstock through agreements and memorandums of understanding with the Vinatas and Coyul operations.
