Antioquia authorities capture alias ‘Alexander’, key financier for Estructura 36

Authorities captured an individual known as alias ‘Alexander’ in San Andrés de Cuerquia, Antioquia, following armed combat on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The individual is identified as a key financial operative for the GAO-r Estructura 36, a criminal faction associated with alias ‘Calarcá’.

According to official reports, alias ‘Alexander’ serves as the right-hand man to alias ‘Primo Gay’ and is responsible for managing the economic decisions and finances of the group. The joint operation involved the 10th Light Infantry Battalion, the Antioquia Police, the CTI-GICOC, and the 75th Specialized Prosecutor's Office.

He faces charges of aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime and the illegal manufacture, trafficking, or possession of firearms. Authorities stated that this capture represents a significant blow to the financial capabilities of Estructura 36, which operates in northern Antioquia and has been linked to attacks against civilians, critical infrastructure, and public forces.
