Antioquia Comptroller to audit women's public policy in seven municipalities

The Contraloría General de Antioquia has announced a performance audit to evaluate the implementation of the Public Policy for Women in seven specific municipalities. The audit aims to assess management, resource execution, and the monitoring of results regarding the protection and rights of women.

The selected municipalities are La Ceja, Carolina del Príncipe, Sopetrán, Maceo, Cisneros, Venecia, and La Estrella. These locations were chosen based on criteria such as the presence of female mayors and the proportion of the female population within their respective subregions. La Estrella was specifically selected as the representative from the Valle de Aburrá region.

The oversight process will reference Ordinance 13 of 2019 and its complementary Ordinance 29 of 2022. Juan Carlos Herrera Toro, the Comptroller General of Antioquia, stated that the goal is to understand how the policy is being materialized in the territories and to ensure that public resources intended for women's welfare and rights are properly safeguarded.
