Antique collectibles market sees rising value for clocks and badges

The market for vintage collectibles is seeing a resurgence, with specific historical items fetching high prices among collectors.

Mechanical pendulum clocks, particularly 19th-century Viennese regulators, are highly sought after. Well-preserved models in glass cabinets can auction for between 15,000 and 40,000 CZK, with exceptional pieces exceeding those amounts. Collectors specifically look for iconic brands such as Junghans or Gustav Becker, prioritizing original mechanical movements over modern battery-operated ones.

Similarly, historical metal badges from the former Czechoslovakia (ČSSR) have become valuable assets. While common factory badges hold little value, rare items such as those belonging to military pilots, special reconnaissance units, or limited editions from sports clubs and significant historical events can sell for tens of thousands of CZK. Authenticity and the presence of original certificates or decrees significantly increase their market value.
