Antisemitic 9/11 conspiracy theories resurface ahead of 25th anniversary

Antisemitic conspiracy theories related to the September 11 attacks are resurfacing and evolving as the 25th anniversary of the event approaches. Organizations such as CyberWell and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) have noted that these narratives, which falsely blame Jewish people or Israel for the terrorist attacks, have become deeply embedded in broader extremist worldviews.

CyberWell reported a rise in social media posts across platforms like Meta, Reddit, and TikTok that use coded language, such as the juice box emoji, or antisemitic caricatures to evade automated moderation. These posts often include claims regarding the World Trade Center leaseholder or the “Dancing Israelis” conspiracy.

The ADL has documented a significant increase in these incidents, noting that the number of tracked antisemitic 9/11 conspiracy theories rose from 35 in 2022 to 68 in 2025. The organization highlighted that new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, are being used to manufacture synthetic “proof” to support these claims, allowing the theories to reach new audiences and integrate with other antisemitic canards.
