Antisemitic and fascist provocations reported in Brescia and Rome

Incidents of fascist and antisemitic provocations were reported in two Italian cities over the weekend of October 24-25.

In Brescia, a group of individuals engaged in fascist provocations in the historic center on Saturday afternoon. According to reports, the group insulted and chased teenagers of migrant origin near a pub on via Beccaria. Local restaurant employees intervened to defend the youths, leading to a physical altercation. The group reportedly called for reinforcements from a stadium area, but police arrived before further escalation occurred.

In Rome, antisemitic graffiti appeared overnight in the Monteverde district. The messages, which included phrases such as ‘Get Jews out of European countries’ and were accompanied by Celtic crosses, were discovered on buildings in via Donna Olimpia. Local authorities, including the president of Municipio XII, condemned the acts as shameful. Rome Capitale has since organized the removal of the graffiti.
