Antônio Fagundes addresses character return and upcoming Globo projects

Brazilian actor Antônio Fagundes has addressed speculation regarding a potential return of his character, Arthur Brandão, to the Globo telenovela ‘Quem Ama Cuida’. Fagundes clarified that there will be no return for the character, jokingly stating, ‘I died eight times! So, I am already dead.’ Despite his character's departure, the actor continues to support the production and has announced three upcoming projects with Globo scheduled for next year.

In addition to television, Fagundes is currently performing in the play ‘Dois de Nós’ in Rio de Janeiro. The production is also in preliminary development to be adapted into a film next year in a co-production with Estúdios Globo.

Separately, the industry is marking the 30th anniversary of the landmark telenovela ‘O Rei do Gado’, which originally aired in 1996. The production remains a significant cultural reference in Brazil, and the anniversary has prompted renewed interest in its star-studded cast and its portrayal of rural Brazil.
