Antônio Gonçalves proposes 25-year plan to settle social security debt

The municipality of Antônio Gonçalves has proposed Bill No. 011/2026, which seeks to authorize the installment and rescheduling of social security debts owed to the Municipal Social Security Regime (RPPS). The proposal allows for debts incurred up to August 2025 to be paid in up to 300 monthly installments, spanning 25 years. For employer contributions occurring after August 2025, the proposed term is up to 60 installments.

The current text of the bill does not specify the total consolidated value of the debt, stating instead that values will be determined later via the CADPREV system. Payments would be made through withholdings from the Municipal Participation Fund (FPM), with the municipality required to use its own resources if the FPM retention is insufficient. Local council members are expected to seek further clarification regarding the total debt amount, the impact on the municipal budget, and whether any employee contributions were withheld but not transferred to the pension fund.
