António José Seguro calls for swift investigation into Minister Luís Neves

Portuguese President António José Seguro has called for swiftness in the ongoing investigations and audits concerning the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves. Speaking after a visit to the Vila Nova de Cerveira International Art Biennial, Seguro emphasized that each sovereignty organ must 'assume its responsibility' and noted that the Constitution is clear regarding the competencies and attributions of each body.

The controversy surrounding Minister Neves involves allegations regarding the failure to declare his wife's two vehicles to the Transparency Entity. Additionally, reports from Nascer do Sol and TVI/CNN have highlighted that Neves possesses several high-end official vehicles, two drivers, and four security personnel. There are also questions regarding his use of a sports car, which was previously used during his tenure as the national director of the Judiciary Police.

In response to these allegations, Minister Neves explained that the vehicle in question is a service vehicle held under a legal loan agreement (comodato) and is duly authorized.
