António Oliveira receives tributes for 80th birthday

Portuguese football legend António Oliveira, known as Toni, is receiving multiple tributes following his 80th birthday. At the Estádio Cidade de Coimbra, Académica will honor the former international player, coach, and official during the halftime of their Taça de Portugal match against Amarante.

In his hometown of Mogofores, a local park has been renamed the Parque António Oliveira – Toni, accompanied by the unveiling of a sculpture.

During a celebratory dinner for Toni, Benfica president Rui Costa was noted for briefly withdrawing from a table shared with Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença upon noticing journalists. The move was reportedly intended to avoid projecting an image of reconciliation between the two figures to supporters.
