António Venâncio formalizes candidacy for MPLA presidency

António Venâncio has officially submitted his candidacy for the presidency of the MPLA. Represented by Hélder Ludi, the submission included 30 folders for analysis by the Candidacy Subcommission after an initial preliminary review.

The candidacy process involved collecting approximately 6,200 subscriptions across all 21 provinces of Angola. The team aimed for a target of 375 signatures per province to exceed the required 250 and ensure compliance. Ludi noted that while some corrections regarding acceptance declarations may be necessary, they expect to finalize all documentation within the permitted timeframe.

In addition to the subscription files, a motion of strategy outlining the candidacy’s primary orientations was also submitted. The validation of the candidacy now rests with the competent subcommission, which must verify that all regulatory requirements have been met.
