Antofagasta launches first municipal women's football league

The Municipality of Antofagasta has officially launched its first Municipal Women's Football League. The competition features seven teams and 175 athletes, with all matches scheduled to take place at the Estadio Regional.

Funded entirely by municipal resources through the Directorate of Community Development (DIDECO), the league aims to expand sporting opportunities for women aged 17 and older. Mayor Sacha Razmilic noted that the initiative seeks to capitalize on the growing interest in the discipline following the recent promotion of Club de Deportes Antofagasta to the First Division.
