Antoine de Massy, cousin of Prince Albert II, found dead in Monaco

Antoine de Massy, the 29-year-old first cousin once removed of Prince Albert II of Monaco, was found dead on Sunday in a garden behind Villa Sauber near Boulevard du Larvotto. The discovery was made after he failed to attend a family lunch, prompting a relative to contact public security.

The Prince’s Palace issued a statement expressing sadness over the death of the grandson of Princess Antoinette, the elder sister of Prince Rainier III. The communiqué noted de Massy’s passion for tennis and his family’s deep historical ties to the sport within the Principality.

Monaco’s prosecutor general has opened an investigation to determine the cause of death. Authorities confirmed that one person was arrested on Monday as part of the initial inquiries, though it remains unclear if the individual is a suspect or a witness.
