Antoine Griezmann signs with Orlando City and invests in Danish fintech Flatpay

French forward Antoine Griezmann terminated his contract with Atlético Madrid and signed for MLS side Orlando City. The club announced the deal on social media, showing a photo of Griezmann arriving by plane. He is expected to debut on 23 July against San Jose, joining the team as it seeks a boost in a season disrupted by the 2026 World Cup.

Following his departure, Atlético Madrid’s social committee proposed adding Griezmann to the club’s Walk of Fame. Fans voted to recognise his 212 goals and 101 assists in 501 matches for the Spanish side, placing him among a select group of legends.

In parallel, Griezmann became a shareholder of Flatpay, a Danish fintech unicorn valued at €1.5 billion. The company provides payment solutions to small and medium‑size merchants across seven European countries and employs over 2,000 staff. His investment follows a broader expansion of his commercial activities, including other entrepreneurial projects.
