Antoliano Peralta Romero to release book on Dominican history

Antoliano Peralta Romero, the Dominican Republic's Minister of Justice, is releasing a new book titled ‘Después de Trujillo: Un lustro convulso, 1961-1966’. The work reconstructs a pivotal period in the nation's contemporary political history.

The book examines the years between the death of dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina on May 30, 1961, and the elections of 1966. It covers significant events including the government of Juan Bosch, the 1963 coup d'état, the Triumvirate, the April 1965 Revolution, the United States military intervention, and the subsequent election of Joaquín Balaguer.

Peralta Romero also focuses on the constitutional reforms and legal frameworks that characterized the various short-lived governments during this transformative five-year interval. The book launch is organized in collaboration with Editora Manatí.
