Danish rider Anton Charmig of Uno‑X Mobility secured his first WorldTour victory by soloing to the finish line in Le Puy‑en‑Velay during stage 2 of the 2026 Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes. After attacking on the Côte de Saint‑Vidal, Charmig held off the chase and crossed the line 41 seconds ahead of Henri‑François Renard‑Haquin and Vlad Van Mechelen.

The 234.3‑km stage, the longest of the race, featured an early breakaway that evolved into a ten‑rider group. EF Education‑EasyPost’s Alex Baudin retained the yellow jersey despite the breakaway’s large time gap, while the peloton finished more than three minutes behind the leaders. Points and mountain contests were also contested, with Benjamin Thomas taking the first intermediate sprint.
