Anton Chekhov Theater in Chișinău stages Matei Vișniec play

The Anton Chekhov Theater in Chișinău recently staged ‘Horses at the Window’, a renowned play by Romanian dramatist Matei Vișniec. Performed in Russian, the production explores profound themes of war, death, memory, and human fragility.

The play examines the absurdity and cruelty of armed conflict, highlighting the suffering of those left behind, such as women whose family members are sent to the front. Cast members Iurie Andriușcenco and Iana Lazari performed in the production, which aims to provoke reflection on how war alters human destinies and leaves lasting psychological scars.
