Anton Johansson joins Detroit Red Wings NHL opening roster

Anton Johansson, a 22-year-old defenseman, has secured a spot on the Detroit Red Wings' 23-man opening night roster for their game against the New York Rangers. After spending time with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL, Johansson impressed during the preseason, recording five points in four training matches.

Separately, former Red Wings player Johan Franzén has commented on the return of coach Mike Babcock to the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers. Franzén, who played under Babcock for ten seasons, described the difficult experience of being targeted by the coach, stating that he once felt like the “worst” player after being singled out during intense verbal critiques.
