Antonella Elia undergoes surgery for borderline tumor

Italian television personality Antonella Elia has undergone surgery at the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome to remove a mass near her ovary. Following the procedure, Elia revealed via social media that the mass was a borderline tumor. As a result of the surgery, her fallopian tubes and ovary were removed, though her uterus remains intact.

Elia used her experience to issue a public appeal regarding the importance of medical prevention. She admitted to having neglected regular tumor marker checks for approximately eighteen months despite a previously identified abnormality. She encouraged followers to listen to their bodies and follow up on medical symptoms promptly to avoid irreversible issues.

Actor Pietro Delle Piane, Elia's former partner, was present at the hospital to provide support during her hospitalization. Elia reported that while the anesthesia was intense and she is experiencing some physical discomfort, the surgery went better than expected.
