Antonella Henríquez confronts body shaming amid TV dance show fame

Antonella Henríquez, a contestant on the Chilean dance competition "Fiebre de Baile" and daughter of circus artist Christian Henríquez, says she has been the target of relentless body criticism on social media. She recounted that commenters tell her she "doesn't have the body of a TV woman" and accuse her of being "overweight," remarks that reopen wounds from childhood bullying about her physique.

Henríquez explained that the hurtful messages, often from older men and women, have deeply affected her mental health, leading her to seek therapy. Despite the negativity, she also noted receiving support from a community of fans who defend her.

She emphasized that the ongoing hate "opens an old childhood wound" and that the scrutiny intensifies the pressure of her public exposure.
