Porto d’Ascoli hosts book presentation on Samba Manneh’s journey

Author Antonella Roncarolo is presenting her new book, ‘Eravamo due ragazzi’, at the Hotel Sporting in Porto d’Ascoli. The event focuses on the real-life journey of Samba Manneh, a young man from Gambia.

Manneh left his home country in 2015 to seek medical treatment for a leg condition and to build a future in Europe. The book explores themes of vulnerability, loneliness, and the transformative power of human connection. Manneh, now 28, has successfully transitioned to autonomy and operates a business in the catering sector. He will participate in the discussion alongside Professor Fernando Palestini, a specialist in human mobility and reception.
