Antonello Valentini analyzes Napoli transfers and Bari situation

Antonello Valentini, the former general director of the FIGC, has provided an analysis of the current state of Napoli, the Italian national team, and Bari. Regarding Napoli, Valentini noted that the club has not conducted a sufficient transfer campaign to strengthen the squad, highlighting that while Massimiliano Allegri is not ‘old or boiled,’ the team is limited by its current roster and decisive injuries. He suggested that club president De Laurentiis must make an effort in the market to support key players like Anguissa.

On the Italian national team, Valentini called for patience following a defeat against Belgium, emphasizing that the squad is in a transition period without legendary figures like Totti or Cannavaro and needs time to build a new group around younger players.

Addressing the situation at Bari, Valentini described the environment as ‘delicate, tense, and contentious.’ He noted his role on a committee of guarantors tasked with monitoring the transparency of the club, particularly concerning the De Laurentiis family's multi-ownership and the potential for a sale by June 2028.
