Antoni Dudek warns Donald Tusk of potential legal accountability
Political scientist Professor Antoni Dudek has warned Prime Minister Donald Tusk regarding potential legal consequences should a right-wing coalition, led by Law and Justice (PiS), return to power following future elections.
Dudek suggests that a PiS-led government would likely demand accountability for the current administration. This could involve the removal of parliamentary immunities, intensive prosecutorial activity, and the preparation of indictments against the Prime Minister and his associates. Dudek noted that the control of the Ministry of Justice would be a critical priority for the opposition.
The expert also expressed doubts regarding the legal basis of certain actions taken by the current government, citing discussions surrounding the use of non-existent legal instruments, such as a Prime Minister 'decree'. Dudek warned that Tusk might face a scenario where he must choose between leaving the country or facing investigative detention, provided the courts do not intervene.
