Antonietta Tuccillo debuts crochet collection at Milan Fashion Week

Designer Antonietta Tuccillo received a standing ovation at Milan Fashion Week during the B ICONIC event held at Officine del Volo. She presented her ‘Crochet Couture’ collection, featuring unique, handmade pieces.

Tuccillo developed these creations during her years of oncological treatment for high-grade malignant ovarian cancer, a condition that is now chronic. What began with a crochet hook and small teddy bears evolved into a diverse range of garments, including outerwear, costumes, bridal wear, and an ‘abito della voglia di vivere’ (dress of the will to live) created during her therapeutic journey.

The collection was accessorized with jewelry by master Michele Affidato. Tuccillo’s debut was supported by Donatella Gimigliano, president of the Associazione Consorzio Umanitas and producer of Women for Women against Violence, who recognized the designer's talent and helped bring the work to the runway.
