Antonino Iaccarino, 88, Dies in Piano di Sorrento

Antonino Iaccarino, known locally as “Tonino ra’ parata,” died peacefully at age 88 in the Presidio Ospedaliero di Sorrento. The community of Piano di Sorrento gathered to mourn the loss of a husband, father and grandfather.

The family arranged a camera ardente on Saturday, 8 August, from 11:00 at the Congrega della SS. Annunziata. The funeral took place on Sunday, 9 August, at 8:30 in the Basilica di San Michele Arcangelo, followed by cremation. Instead of flowers, the family asked mourners to make donations to the Dame di San Vincenzo.

Local residents expressed their condolences, highlighting Iaccarino’s long‑standing presence in the town and the deep personal loss felt by his wife Rosaria, children Teresa, Anna, Luisa and Salvatore, and extended family.
