Antonio Brown to accept plea deal in Miami attempted murder case
Former NFL star Antonio Brown is set to accept a plea deal in Miami to resolve a second-degree attempted murder charge. The agreement, which Brown is scheduled to finalize in court on September 30, will allow him to avoid a potential 30-year prison sentence in favor of probation.
The case stems from a May 2025 incident following a celebrity boxing match in Miami, where Brown allegedly took a handgun from a security staffer and fired two shots at Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu. Brown has maintained his innocence, asserting he acted in self-defense under Florida’s ‘Stand Your Ground’ law.
Under the terms of the deal, Brown is expected to plead no contest to a reduced charge of aggravated assault or aggravated battery. The agreement reportedly includes probation and a requirement to stay away from the victim, but avoids incarceration, fines, or community service. The victim, Nantambu, has expressed forgiveness toward Brown.
