Antonio Brown to accept plea deal in Miami court
Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is scheduled to appear in a Miami courtroom to accept a plea agreement regarding an attempted murder case. According to his attorney, Mark Eiglarsh, Brown will plead no contest to a reduced charge of aggravated assault and will be sentenced to probation.
Under the terms of the deal, adjudication will be withheld, which means Brown will not be considered a convicted felon. This agreement allows him to avoid a potential 30-year prison sentence. The case stems from an incident on May 16, 2025, following a celebrity boxing match in Miami, where Brown is accused of grabbing a handgun from a security staffer and firing two shots at a man he had been in a fistfight with.
The alleged victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, reported that a bullet grazed his neck. While Brown has claimed on social media that he was acting in self-defense, the plea deal has been described as fair by Nantambu’s attorney, who noted that Nantambu forgives Brown.
