Antonio Carlos Ferreira departs the Superior Electoral Court

Minister Antonio Carlos Ferreira has concluded his term at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) following his final session on Thursday. His tenure included serving as the general inspector of Electoral Justice for over nine months.

Ferreira will be succeeded at the TSE by Minister Sebastião Reis Júnior, while the position of general inspector will be taken over by Minister Ricardo Villas Bôas Cueva. Ferreira, who also serves on the Superior Court of Justice, emphasized the importance of protecting electronic voting machines as a democratic asset and called for defenses against disinformation and the abusive use of artificial intelligence in elections.

During his time in the inspectorate, Ferreira oversaw the organization of judicial electoral investigations related to the 2022 general elections.
