Antonio Conte poised to become Italy national team coach

Following the election of Giovanni Malagò as president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), the search for a new manager of the Italy national team has narrowed to former coach Antonio Conte. Analysts and club officials cite Conte’s experience and recent success in Serie A, and the federation is reportedly preparing a four‑year contract that would extend through the 2030 World Cup. Clubs in Serie A have expressed support, viewing Conte as a stabilising figure for the national side.

Reports also note that former Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis welcomed the prospect, saying he would be pleased if Conte, who left Napoli a month ago, remained based in the city while taking the national job. Discussions about the appointment are expected to conclude in the coming weeks.
