Antonio Corvino leaves Salerno Carabinieri command for new role in Naples

Major Antonio Antonio Corvino is stepping down from his position as head of the Salerno Carabinieri Company after four and a half years of service. He is set to transition to a new role within the Carabinieri Investigative Nucleus in Naples.

During a farewell ceremony held at the Mercatello headquarters, Provincial Commander Colonel Filippo Melchiorre praised Corvino’s professional and human qualities, describing him as “the major with a heart larger than his biceps.” The ceremony highlighted Corvino’s focus on investigative activities, crime prevention, and community engagement, particularly with local youth.

In his farewell address, Corvino expressed emotional reflections on the personal sacrifices required by his service, specifically noting the time taken away from his family. He thanked his professional team, whom he referred to as his “professional family,” as well as his wife and son for their support. Captain Riccardo Angeletti will succeed Corvino as the head of the Salerno Company.
