Antonio Gozzi reappointed as FIGC councilor representing Serie B amid calls for reform

The Lega Serie B assembly in Rome, held as part of the FIGC federal election, confirmed Antonio Gozzi, president of Virtus Entella, as the league's representative on the FIGC council. Gozzi’s reappointment continues under the newly elected FIGC president Giovanni Malagò, who is expected to lead a phase of reforms in Italian football.

At the same meeting, Lega Serie B president Paolo Bedin called for decisive action on the sport’s financial sustainability and youth development. He urged the adoption of a “Decreto Giovani” to reduce club debt, lower entry barriers for new owners, and strengthen internal youth markets. Bedin emphasized the need for a strategic, long‑term vision rather than short‑term fixes, and highlighted the importance of presenting football as a strategic sector to the political agenda.
