Antonio Grlj, goalkeeper for NK Cres, dies at 34

The football and futsal community in the Kvarner region is mourning the sudden death of goalkeeper Antonio Grlj at the age of 34.

His current club, NK Cres, released an emotional statement describing Grlj as more than just a goalkeeper, noting his dedication, positive character, and the support he provided to his teammates in both good and difficult times.

Throughout his career, Grlj played for several clubs, including Krka, Naprijed Hreljin, Maksimir, Trnje, Vihor Baška, and Mrkoplj. He was also an active futsal player, having represented HMNK Rijeka and HMNK Dynamic. He most recently played for NK Cres, making 24 league appearances.
