Antonio Iannone rejects claims of transport budget cuts in Campania

Senator Antonio Iannone, a member of Fratelli d'Italia and undersecretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, said the alleged cuts to Campania’s public transport are unfounded.

He refuted claims by Campania President Vincenzo Fico of a €100 million cut and statements by regional councilor Cascone of a €60 million reduction, calling the figures “invented” and not based on any actual budget decision.

Iannone noted that the differentiated autonomy law prevents resources from regions that do not adopt it being taken away, and urged the Campania administration to focus on projects such as the inclusion of Grazzanise in the National Airport Plan and to address funding losses in Valle Ufita.
