Antonio Inglese retires after nearly 40 years with Italy's Guardia di Finanza

Maresciallo Aiutante Antonio Inglese, originally from the province of Enna, concluded a career of almost four decades in the Guardia di Finanza. He enlisted in 1986, completed training at the Scuola Allievi Finanzieri in Portoferraio and the Scuola Sottufficiali, and was first assigned to the 6ª Compagnia Baschi Verdi in Napoli before serving with the Compagnia Pronto Impiego in Palermo. From 1997 onward he was posted to the Compagnia di Caltanissetta and later to the Nucleo di Polizia Economico‑Finanziaria of Caltanissetta, where he remained until his retirement.

During his service he protected magistrates, participated in numerous anti‑smuggling and financial crime operations, and earned repeated commendations for professionalism and dedication. A retirement ceremony was held in the conference hall of the Guardia di Finanza provincial command in Caltanissetta, where Colonel Stefano Gesuelli, the provincial commander, thanked him on behalf of the corps. Inglese, married with two children, was praised as a reliable reference point for younger members of the force.
